Strange sound at B4

Strange sound at B4

Hi,

I have just found a strange effect which mostly occurs for one high tone. You can hopefully check it according to these steps:

1. Load basic patch from the global menu.
2. Set OSC 1 FREQ to C4.
3. Set shape to Triangle or Pulse.
4. Set an LFO DESTINATION to OSC1 Freq, FREQUENCY to 69, AMOUNT to 10 (different values would also work).
5. Play note B4 (9th white key from the right) and you will hear a strange cyclic noise in addition to the normal tone. Changing the FINE TUNE value of the oscillator results in changes of the cycle frequency of that noise.

See attached example.

This is happening definitely with firmware 1.1, not with 1.0.7.2 (I have downgraded and will keep this version now). Can anyone reproduce this?

Nice find. Same here. Actually my dogs went nuts when I did this. You can actually get other notes to do something similar although it seemed random on my end.

Most likely, and I'm guessing. The the pitch modulation algorithms have gone beyond their intended boundaries with those specific pitch LFO parameters or the lookup tables for pitch CV modulation is bad after a calibration. Apologies for indulging in nerdiness.

We've just released the 1.1.0.1 BETA OS which should resolve this issue.  Be sure to recalibrate the synth following its installation.

I will be locking this thread.  If you have any further troubles in this regard, please contact our technical support department.
