Please let us have polyphonic step sequencer overdub recording mode, or even better - real-time overdub recording.

In my opinion, it could change things a lot!

Oooh yes, I agree that!! In the way it behaves now it is worthless for me and many other "pure electric musicians".

Great idea. The sequencer as it stands is nice for laying down basic riffs or backing tracks but real-time recording would speed things up for sure.

I would love to have a real time recorder which could be quantized after the fact, like a DAW.  Not sure it is possible, though.

A simple PLAY + RECORD buttons combination to start step rec. on the top of the sequence which already recorded would be more than fine

Before finding this thread, I just posted a feature request asking basically this same thing. I see this thread is a few years old. Anyone know if there's any appetite at DSI to improve the P6 sequencer? Two additional suggestions I shared in my post were metronome and motion record.
With no existing sequence in memory, pressing record and play would start live record mode. One of the six voices would temporarily be used as a metronome, otherwise there's no real practical way to do live recording without any pre-existing sequence to use as a timing reference.
Motion recording is probably less likely because it might exceed the architecture of the machine, but obviously I'm referring to the ability to capture knob movements during live recording or overdub recording.

Fingers crossed they consider our ideas. At $2800, I don't think we P6 owners are asking much for this added value. :)
