Dim the display?

Anyone know of a secret way to dim the display? So far my only negative is that in low light that display lights me up in an unflattering red glow...

I haven't found a way to adjust the display brightness. But I remember during the Prophet-5 era it was common for players to make little cardboard display "hoods" that they would tape over the display.

Here is an example, Jonathan Cain's P5 in 1981:

Or you could go to some craft store and get some kind of a dark-ish colored overlay, cut it to size and tape it over the display  :D

Not a bad idea. May even be bright enough to read through duct tape. But it's every light -- they're all very bright -- feel like Jack Horkheimer (but I'm not looking up). I could use a global setting for that.

People wanting to dim the display with a superior snobbish edge can start discussing what Schott glass types to use! :o ;) 8)

Seriously, some kind of colored transparent plastic can do the dimming. Possibly even the types of transparent plastic that some use for gift wrapping. Time for experimenting!
