How to set up midi through, (both MIDI in & MIDI out) for the OB-6 and Tetra

I think the subject says it all!  Any ideas?  I feel like there are settings in the OB-6 to set it up as a midi controller but not to have a triggered as an external instrument by my laptop.  I'm using Ableton as my DAW.
