Prophet 6, Bad voicecard maybe?? Please help
« on: March 22, 2017, 10:31:56 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I just bought a Prophet 6 which I got today. I'm super happy with the sound of it but it seems like my unit is broken. I realised that every 6th note taken with the HPF all the way up makes a loud scratchy noise. This does not happen when the HPF is not engaged. So if anyone could replicate the settings ( all oscillators mix volume to zero, Noise to zero, LPF to zero, HPF all the way up), try to press the keyboard. It seems like there should be no sound now right? But on my unit every 6th note makes a loud noise.

Should I return my unit first thing tomorrow?

I'm very thankful for all replies!

Best,

Daniel

Did you run the calibration procedure ?

To calibrate the oscillators and filters:
1. Hold down the preset button and press 0
2. The front panel LEDs and display begin flashing as the Prophet-6
performs its auto-calibration procedure. Don't turn off the power while
it's doing this.
3. When finished, the front panel controls will return to normal and you
can play the Prophet-6 again
