With the footswitch, how exactly would it transpose the sequence?
What it does do(possibly) is put the midi message of holding down the record button to transpose at your feet(on a footswitch) then you can transpose at will(as long as footswitch is pressed).
I'm not sure if that would work. How would you even be able to program something like that.
Look at the description of the device, it is fully programmable to send any message you want when you press the footswitch...even toggle messages. Those can be sysex up to 20 bytes long! They have software that can program the device. BTW, I can vouch for their units, company has been in business for a long time. I have one of their midi thrus, been a workhorse for me....one cool feature of these units, is they are midi powered! No external power supply needed!
http://www.midisolutions.com/prodfsw.htmThe software programmer is here:
http://www.midisolutions.com/progtool.htmFrom the website info on the midi solutions footswitch controller:
"The Footswitch Controller can be programmed to send out a System Exclusive message when the footswitch is depressed, and/or another System Exclusive message when the footswitch is released. The maximum length of each System Exclusive message is 20 bytes.
It is also possible to cause the Footswitch Controller to alternate between System Exclusive messages with each tap of the footswitch by programming the Footswitch Controller's Toggle parameter to ON."
So yes, as long as the OB6 pressing and releasing of the record button has a midi message when you hold it(to enable sequencer transpose), I would think you should be able to do what I'm proposing and put those messages on the footswitch.
