That last test I reported was 212bpm (not 202bpm).

Great questions. Once the drift begins, it stays present. It doesn't re-sync.

In this last test, at 212bpm (44.1kHz, 960ppqn), with minimal triggering, the drift was in range of:
1036 samples = 0:00.023sec (23ms) = 80ticks (at 960ppqn)

At two different readings about 10 seconds apart.

Oh yeah i get nothing like that, if it drifts 1ms either way for a beat or 2 every 4 bars or something its and it resyncs straight away, you only even know that by zooming into the actual wavefile and examining it, audibly you wouldn't even know it drifts at all.
