Turn hold on/off via MIDI?

Hi

Is it possible to turn the hold button on and off via MIDI? Or the equivalent thereof. Checking in a MIDI monitor I see the button doesn't transmit anything and all the hold/sustain related MIDI CCs don't work.

I'm using a hardware sequencer (MPC2000XL) and for a sequence I have, I like both the effect of it played as I performed it but also the effect of turning on hold and the arpeggiator (which is easily controlled by CC). I'd like to be toggle between the two from the MPC
