Title: Phantom Parameter Changes
Post by: black953mj on May 25, 2023, 03:41:16 PM
My Pro3 is exhibiting some odd behavior.  At completely random time intervals, without anything but the power cord plugged in, the screen will change to a random parameter edit screen and some parameter will be changed.  Sometimes it changes to the filter cutoff screen, sometimes the sequencer step edit screen, sometimes the filter envelope screen, sometimes the amp envelope screen.

The time between occurrences is completely random.  It has happened multiple times over the course of 10 minutes and has gone hours without anything acting up.

This happened right after I got it a couple years ago and support sent a new main board, which I swapped out.  This seemed to fix it, kind of, I would still see it happen but very infrequently. Recently it started happening again so support sent a new main board since it was a repeat issue.  This time it actually made it worse.

Running most recent main and panel OS.  Also have ticket open with support but thought I’d ask the question here too. I saw the post about jumpy encoders but this seems to be different.

Anyone else have this issue and, if so, what was ultimately the solution?

I just replied to another post about jumping parameters - wonder if what you're seeing is just for parameters which have a potentiometer not an encoder?

I am seeing the same thing on mine and am curious what you learn.

Nothing new to report right now other than Sequential had me send it in to them to repair.  Once they finish diagnosing the problem and get it sorted out I’ll be happy to report back.  In the meantime I would contact support if you haven’t already, they do a great job supporting their products.
