Title: How to prevent master volume from sending volume to connected midi synths...
Post by: smerny on April 21, 2023, 11:47:39 AM
This actually applies to all my Sequential/Oberheim modern synths.  I just want the volume knob to NOT transmit midi volume out.  I get lost in all the settings.

Please help!  And thank you for doing so!

I asked this before (in a pro3 or take5 thread) as far as I know unfortunately you can't switch off this behavior. I installed a midi filter to filter CC7 out. I dont know if its a bug - for me its not a feature ;)

If it were up to me, none of these synths would send or respond to master volume messages. This controller is a total thorn in my side.

Volume should be just a knob on the front panel that does nothing but control volume, and it should be the only thing that controls volume.

Thus ends my rant.

I thought for sure that I had figured this out at one point, but my system has undergone a lot of changes where it got switched back - I'm gonna figure it out.  Or I'm nuts.
