Title: 7 semitone pitchbend standard
Post by: johnsimmons on February 02, 2023, 03:32:13 PM
It seems like almost all of the factory patches have the pitchbend set at 7 semitones. Was this how the original P5s were configured?

7 is certainly an ok choice, but i don't remember it being a standard in other synths. I'm more of a 2 guy.

My wife has a rev3 - I checked it out and indeed, 7 half-steps (ish) up it is. Like you, I'm also more likely to keep mine at 2 or 3, but it's nice to see Sequential keeping it real, yet again!

If you copy all the factory banks to the user banks, you can then edit the pitch wheel interval, save, then when you’ve changed them all, write the user banks back to the factory banks via the debug menu.

Can you tell me, what is the debug menu?

It’s a menu troubleshooting, adjusting CVs, etc. it’s not listed in the manual. I believe it’s globals+numerical button to enter it. Eg Global+5 is the CV menu if I recall correctly. A bit of web searching, particularly for posts by Creativespiral here or on Gearspace should unearth the info.

Oh! Interesting... I tried to search Creativespiral's posts here and Gearspace but i didn't come up with anything on debug menu. If you or anybody have any info you can post or link to that'd be great. No biggie!

Might be worth sending him a PM. Or you could email sequential support and ask for instruction.

Good idea, thank you.
