Title: All factory and user presets lost on 1.0.0.22 after it was working fine
Post by: CyberGene on January 12, 2023, 02:54:15 AM
I received my Take 5 on Monday and installed the latest beta firmware. I performed a global reset. Then all was OK for a few days, all the factory presets were there and I created a few custom presets which I saved in the last user bank G.

Today after I switched it on, all banks and presets contain a patch called PanSeared which doesn't produce sound 😕 And I lost my user patches. Even if I reset to an init patch I can't hear anything.

As a side note, while the things were still working, I noticed that some of the BasicProgram patches in the new extended banks would constantly get renamed to the names of existing factory patches without producing sound. I would reset them to an init patch and would store it and it would be OK only to find out that the patch again got overwritten with a silent factory patch.

P.S. After performing another global reset the things are working. But this beta is very buggy. I hope these issues get sorted in a future update.

I reinstalled the OS, reinitialized all programs through the debug menu and then restored the factory patches. This time I created my own patches in user bank 1 and so far no problems.

The last time I created my patches starting from the very last program G16 going backwards. And I saw weird problems in that G bank. I think something is broken with these extended banks, or at least with the G one.

Interesting. I've had zero problems with the 1.0.0.22 beta that didn't end up being user error and was surprised to see your post, but then I also haven't used the extended patch memory. Didn't even occur to me to test those.

After installing the beta firmware, I got strange names in some presets of G bank.
This is a known issue / side effect of the beta firmware and is covered in the following post :
"New Beta Main OS 1.0.0.13 - Weird Naming in new preset slots".
I've reinitialized all programs as instructed.
And no problem so far with patches stored in any user bank.

I guess the reinitialization of programs, like you have done, is a "must do" step.

I see, thanks. I’ve missed that or probably thought it was fixed in the subsequent firmware versions. I’m not sure if these are related things but as I explained in my first post one day I just turned the Take 5 on and all was messed up across all banks. Wondering if it was caused by the same uninitialized state? Anyway, I’ve gone through the recommended steps now, so hopefully it will also prevent that from happening again.
