Title: Velocity & Aftertouch Memory
Post by: jconway3 on January 08, 2023, 09:16:42 AM
Hi All, I see a few posts in bug reports discussing the P5 & P10 not storing the velocity and aftertouch with the patch but instead just returning back to level 127.
Is there a workaround for this or is it something to be fixed in the next software update?
It’s odd that some patches do seem to have user levels stored with the patch but any patches I edit/create won’t retain the levels I set.

Same here ...  What ever I do it goes back to level 127   :o
I do not use AT much so it does not bother me , but there's probably a bug  :-\  ?
Maybe I'll use it more if I could get "normal" modulation on AT level 1 - 2 , but now
it's hysterical and useless ......

Cheers !

Yeh it’s a shame as adjusting the sensitivity of the velocity especially makes such a difference to the expressiveness of my patches. Hopefully we will see an update soon.

The case seems to be solved. With new patches everything is stored. Patches created before the firmware update do not store the information. New patches have added information.

Velocity and aftertouch amounts don't save to my patches, after the latest update. Does this work properly for anyone out there? Should i reinstall firmware or something? Is this being worked out?

Hi, Velocity and Aftertouch amounts don’t save to patches created before the latest updates, only on new patches created since then. This was confirmed to me by Sequential after I reported it to Support- they’re working on a fix.

So if I adjust, for example, the cutoff just a tiny bit and then save it in the same location, is it
a "new patch" then ?  And is it possible to adjust the AT sens at the same time, or after I saved
the "new patch" ?   :o

Cheers !

I would suggest just to try it. I always start with a new patch so never ran into a problem.

Tried it and it seems to work better now  :)
But still to much modulation with AT settings over "zero" ......   :-\

Cheers !

I tried adjusting a few parameters and saving the aftertouch level at 30 but it returns to 127. So the new patch tip doesn't work for me. I hope thy fix this. I understand that some players don't find aftertouch useful and that the original Prophet 5 didn't have it, but it makes a biog difference to the expression of some of the patches I am programming.

Same here, changing a few things, saving the patch, then turning AT-modulation down and saving it again makes it jump back to 127...

Hope that this can be fixed soon!
