Title: Take 5 Beta Main OS 1.0.0.22 - SEQ/ARP timing is way early
Post by: blasteroid on November 15, 2022, 11:45:40 AM
After extensive testing of clock-accuracy when slaved to an external clock over MIDI DIN or USB, it appears that the sequencer and arpeggiator is consistently 18-20 ms early.

Most hardware instruments are usually a little late (8 - 15 ms is common), but that is fine as they all end up in the same ballpark anyway and the end result sounds fine.

But since the Take 5 seq/arp is early by such a large amount, it is VERY noticeable (Take 5 is 20 ms early, other instruments are approx 10 ms late, difference is 30 ms !!).

I can compensate the differences in MIDI timing in my DAW, but when playing live on a "dawless" rig using MIDI DIN, this is not an option.

The timing issue is present regardless if I use MIDI DIN or USB MIDI. I didn't test this before the .22 beta firmware, so I am not sure if this is a new issue or old.

I confer that there is a midi clock timing issue with the latest OS. It's present on my Take 5 as well direct DIN from a drum machine to the synth.

Hi, have you managed to solve the issue? I think I am experiencing the same behaviour on my Take 5 (firmware 2.0)
