Title: Encoder Jitter ?
Post by: h4ndcrafted on June 19, 2022, 08:12:39 AM
When programming , say turning the lfo amount , I notice it can send other parameters a bit loopy. Like the cutoff will suddenly go to zero or the resonance will suddenly go to max.

I thought it was a midi loop or my Maschine not clearing automation properly , but it is doing even when not midi’d up to anything.

Any ideas ? I thought maybe it’s encoder jitter or something ?

Turns out it’s the USB , if I use din midi no such problems  :(
Think I read about this , is it not fixed yet ?

Prophet 5/10 doesn't HAVE any 'encoders', they are all real potentiometers with finite range. I guess you meant 'ghost' edits from dirty pots? I have actually seen this happen just once, I thought, on the FREQ pot of osc 1... dirty pot? it's not come back after a few good turns (important to give all pots a good full range turn now and then or they could oxidise I guess)... can't recall if I had a USB cable in at the time or hooked up to any MIDI.
