Title: Poly-Chaining units with different MIDI RX channels?
Post by: engineerjoel on February 18, 2022, 07:19:22 AM
Note: I'm new to the idea of poly-chaining and learning its capabilities:

Quesiton:
When a DSI keyboard is Poly-chained to its Desktop counterpart (e.g. P6 Keyboard poly-chained to P6 Desktop), is it possible to have each unit set respond to its own MIDI channel?

There reason I'm asking this, is that I'd like to be able to use the Poly-chain feature to expand the number of playable voices from 6 to 12 playing the same patch; but then, I'd like to be able to access them separately (via midi) with each playing their own patches.   As result, I could layer both or split the units across one master MIDI controller.

thanks,
