Title: Local Control Dedicated Button
Post by: adamtao on September 29, 2021, 02:18:55 PM
Hello. First timer here. I just thought I'd share a little project I made in case it could help anyone else out there.

I decided I had enough of scrolling through the Global menu just to turn Local Control on/off on the Prophet 12. In my workflow, I go back and forth between the two modes a lot. I noticed the manual shows a NRPN to do just that, so I made an Arduino project to make it happen with a dedicated button.

I put the code and schematic in a github project here:

In my case, I couldn't figure out how to fit a full-sized MIDI jack in the little project box I had, so I made one of those new-fashion mini-jack TRS-MIDI connectors. It just happens to fit under the Prophet, so the box sits flush up against it. Nifty.

Anyway, if anyone out there wants to make one, let me know if you have any questions about it.

This is great and is a pet peeve with many of my synths!
