Title: Desktop Prophet 5 constantly detuning
Post by: The_KtuluX on September 02, 2021, 09:01:12 AM
Hello all !

I've just joined the big Sequential family yesterday by receiving a brand new Prophet-5 desktop. The sound is amazing - I am so happy about it...

BUT…

my Prophet is constantly detuning. Sometime I have to hit the "Tune" button every 10 minutes because the synth goes out of tune for no reason (I suppose). The Vintage button is set to 4 so it's not coming from there. Sometime, it's just 1 key that is out of tune, sometime it's all of them.

I red on the manual that you should tune the osc as much as needed during the first days of use so that the machine can adapt itself to my environment temperature. But it seems to me that it need to be calibrated A LOT.

So... what do you think ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best  :)

Does your room temperature fluctuate much?
AC?  Other warm gear around, like tube amps?

Cheers !

Hello HockeBocke,

Thanks for your answer :)

No hot gear around. The temperature may have fluctuate in my living room though when the sun lights came in. Is the prophet that sensible ?

Not as sensible as the originals (rev 1 and 2 ) but it reacts to changes in temperature ....
I have to hit the Tune button after one or two minutes after start once or twice a week,
but as an owner of a P-5 rev.2 for 35 years I´m used to hit that button a lot   ;)

Just keep on tuning your P-5 and I´m shure it will be better ....
If not , I read in another tread here that it is possible to "clear" the memory
of the tuning .....

Here ... I found it   : )
