Title: OB6 in LOGIC gettin MIDI Feedback (playing 2 voices with one note)
Post by: Luke Keywalker on August 06, 2021, 06:57:45 AM
Hi there  8),

if I use my OB6 Keyboard to play in Logic (OB6 as an external instrument) it doubles the voices per note. Meaning if I play a chord with 6 notes it kills 3 of them because it gets the same note per note BACK from Logic in the OB6 simultaneously (also is louder obviously).

If I play with the OB6 with the Komplete Kontrol Midi keyboard everything is fine - only if I play the OB6 itself, it causes some kind of MIDI LOOP I think.

Don't know how to avoid it! With Local Ctrl OFF, fixes the problem with the MIDI feedback but it causes that I cannot use any knobs (local ctrls) anymore.

What to do?!

Thank you guys and have a nice day!

Best,
Luke

I have the OB6 Desktop and I use the Rev2 as a controller sometimes. The Rev2 has the same issue. You need to either disable midi through in Logic or turn local control off on the OB6. I use Nuendo and I have the midi through enable/disable assigned to a key command just for this reason. Kind of sucks but you'll get used to it. The OB6 is worth the extra 2 seconds it takes.

Thanks man. I also figured out that I have to cut the MIDI through in Logic for the OB-6 but weirdly the problem still exists?! But I think this is now rather a topic for a Logic forum - because if the function would work how it should (or I am smart enough to use it right) it should solve the problem!
