Title: Unison mode resets to CHO
Post by: soundsubs on May 17, 2021, 09:59:22 PM
I can't believe I'm just noticing this, but the Unison button, once set, then unset, resets to CHO every time.
I'm not sure why this is?
If I set Unison to say 6 notes for monophonic stack, then un-set it to play polyphonically, then re-set it, why would it be CHO as default?
Where CHO = "Play a chord, if programmed. If not, play monophonically"
I can't think of a logical reason for this.

Anyone?

In factory presets mode or in user mode ?

Maybe youīre holding a chord while pressing the unison button ??
Could also be that a long decay of a chord is fading out while pressing unison button ???
Haveīnt tested that , but itīs possible .....  Donīt know ....   Yet   :o

But changing sound "program" and back to where you were will restore your unison settings in that sound
( if you donīt press "record" of course  :P   )

Cheers !

Please report this to Sequential support.

Tested today, and it really does what you described in your first post ........   :(

Must be a bug .....    :o

Hope theyīll fix it .....    :-\

( But changing sound program and back "solves" the issue ,
but thatīs not the way it should be ...  Right ??  )

Cheers !

I emailed Support--- who could not duplicate--- and suggested testing from INIT patch.
When I tried that, I now COULD NOT get it to remember the UNISON back to CHO. I tried on several of my early patches.
I did power cycle a few times, but nothing else.
Weird???
When you said
"( But changing sound program and back "solves" the issue, but thatīs not the way it should be ...  Right ??  )"
... what did you mean? Changing between patch numbers?

Now something else I noted: if Unison is set to CHO and CHO was set at "no notes" UNISON results in no sound.

Yes, lets say you have this issue on sound 112 , change to 113 and back to 112
the sound goes back to the programmed settings ....   At least it does so on my P-10   :)

But there is some sort of bug with this, because when turning Unison off and "normal" chords
can be played, pressing one note and Unison does not return to what was programmed in that
sound / program, for example 3 voices and detune "4", it is just one voice and no detune, and also
no single key "Chords", even though it says CHO in display ......    :o

Cheers !

I’ll take another look at mine and see if can document it in a replicable way to send to support.

I notice this happening before but I have a high tolerance for bugs. I should report things, but I hate being the guy that reports something that is simply the result of my own dumbass mistake.

It might not be the cause in some cases, but be sure you don't toggle Unison while your DAW or sequencer etc is sending notes to it or it will likely put it in chord mode.
