Title: MIDI issue - Phasing , double notes with Local Control ON
Post by: esmeets on February 26, 2021, 02:02:59 PM
Hi,

I have a problem with my Prophet Rev2.If I leave "local control" on in the Global settings and then open Cubase or Logic with the Rev2 as External Instrument, I hear a sort of phasing/doubling effect on every note I play.

This only happens when I set the Rev2 as a midi input and output. If I use another keyboard I don't have this problem, but then I can't record controller movements (like the cutoff etc).

I made an audio clip of this, the first 8 bars are with "local control OFF" and the last 8 bars are with "local control ON", see attachment.

The rev2 is connected via MIDI cables to a MOTU Midi Express 128 and output 1-2 go directly to a UAD Apollo 8, with the UAD Console mixer channels set to mute.

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here?
Thanks!

That's literally the situation Local Control OFF is designed to fix. Leave it off for your case, and watch this to understand more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUeAK07Ia8Y
