Title: instructions for backup and OS update?

Im probably just being an idiot but I cant for the life of me find any instructions on how to backup and update. can anyone point me to that or explain quickly?   
I need to try the Beta Os as I have a pretty bad bug, hoping they squashed it.

Backing up your presets depends on what OS and program you're using on your computer but this should get you started:
