Title: Program on Power up?
Post by: sbr_navi on June 29, 2020, 04:15:36 PM
Hi all -
Maybe I'm imagining (but I don't think so), that before upgrading the firmware the program I was on when I power down the unit was saved so it was there when I powered up.
Now every time I power up it goes to the same program (U2 P15).

Is there a setting I can't find that tells it to start at the last program loaded?

Thanks!

I don't think there's a way for the unit to automatically go back to the patch that it was powered down on... though I wouldn't mind having that option.

You can go to a preset that you want to be the default, then enter Globals menu, then exit Globals menu... that should set it as the default for powering up.

Apparently pressing Global twice on a program is the way to select it to power up later on the same program.

On all of our instruments, the "default program" that loads at power up is set to whatever the current program is when the Globals menu is entered/exited. We do this to avoid unnecessary writes to flash memory. For the last selected program to always load on power-up, you would need to write to flash every time you change programs. This may not seem like a lot, but over the course of decades of use, this drastically reduces writes to flash, and therefore prolongs the life of the flash IC significantly. We build instruments with longevity in mind.
