Title: filter problems
Post by: dantalianalysis on June 17, 2020, 03:05:35 AM
Does your filter work properly. ? I have felt mine was not doing enough then it seemed to do nothing. I have recalibrated
twice and now reinstalled the latest OS. Well it does work but seemingly only if I put envelope amount into the negative
region. Filter does nothing if in env amt > or equal to zero except the drive and resonance change the level a bit in places.
The cutoff is doing nothing at all unless envelope amount is less than zero. This is not an anomaly of patch choice or
envelope setting as I tried it on the basic program (no samples involved) with envelopes of varying shapes. I am sure the
cut off worked when i got it. Everything else works fine and the filter in the fx section works fine. I see someone else on here has problems with the latest OS and is asking for 2.1 . The problems are not specified in that post and I did not keep a copy of 2.1 when I upgraded when i bought this so I can not try going down to an older version. I have not contacted support yet.
Fwiw there also seems to be a bit of hysteresis or lag in the filter response when i do try it with a negative envelope as sometimes there seems to be no effect of a change in parameter then it kicks in suddenly.
Thanks
Sam

Check you don't have an expression pedal connected. That caught me out once.

Thanks . Indeed the expression pedal thing struck me after i wrote. I took it out of
filter control on the global menu but the problem was not solved until I rebooted
the machine. However this is still a bit weird as i was aware there might be
a range issue with the pedal and had moved its position  when the problem was happening and I still had the problem. The same pedal- a Nektar worked when i got the machine not long ago before the os upgrade and I have not had a problem on other related instruments. So though I have solved the problem it seems I can not actually use pedal cv to control filter on this keyboard. I am not sure if this is
what the replier intended or is saying the problem is solved just by physically altering the pedal when it happened.
