Title: P12 Keys
Post by: Bibi on May 16, 2020, 02:51:44 AM
Hi from France,

I want to buy a P12 second hand and I have a questions about the Keybed...

I read and see that the P12 have some problems with the keybed (troubleshooting)... it's true or it's just specific series number than another ? I prefer to have the key version version but if it's true I can buy the desktop.

Tell me, thanks

Hi (from Frence too)

Never had problems with my own P12, even if DSI have made some improvements since (PX, Rev2...)

We just bought a second hand Prophet 12 Keyboard and read on the internet of people not liking the keys...I personally like the Keybed on the Prophet 12.  It’s not as tight as on the Rev2 or Pro 3, I notice the after touch is a bit more sensitive but you can always adjust that amount in the mod matrix.  We were looking for another Poly synth after we bought the Pro 3, and couldn’t be happier with the decision to buy a Prophet 12 Keyboard.  It’s quite an amazing and inspiring synth

The keybed has not been an issue and performs as needed for me.

The keyed is okay, but it's definitely the weak link on an otherwise superb instrument.
You can't change it though so if you want a P12 you'll have to accept it or buy the desktop version instead.
