Title: User wavetables?
Post by: korfu on May 12, 2020, 11:31:46 AM
I hadn't seen anything so far about a hope for users to add their own wavetables. I am guessing if there were there would be some indication in the Sound Tower editor, but wanted to throw it out there.

I'm sure it will eventually happen but with lockdown in place I think they are just doing the best they can with updates/bugs.

But I have faith it will happen. With everyone at Namm asking Dave about it (especially after the "SEQUENTIAL" wavetable demonstration) and also with Novation's wavetable editor for the Peak/Summit synths, I'm sure they are strongly considering it.

I’m sure I saw a post recently where someone asked if the wavetables will be user replaceable. The answer was, no they are there to stay permanently, however they are looking at something much cooler for users if it works out.

I think the post was on Gearslutz or even here - but I can’t find it now.

Anyway - sounds interesting.... perhaps a wave design feature? Like the new Novation feature??

That’s true much like the Prophet X the factory samples (or in this case Wavetables) they won’t be able to be removed or replaced but that’s not to say that user wavetables won’t be implemented, it might just require some extra space for them to fit them in there.
