How much approximately is the latency when one synth is connected via midi directly to one (and only one) other synth. No computer involved. In this case it is a DSI Pro 2, but I am asking in general. I have read 3 ms, but I don't know if it is correct and/or if it is 2×3 = 6 ms.
And for CV? In principle zero I guess, but in practice there must be some.

Depends on the midi message and how many are being sent.
A note on message is 3 bytes and the transfer rate is 3125 bytes per second, so roughly 1ms.
If you play 10 notes at the same time then as midi is serial it will take approximately 10 ms for all the notes to be transferred.

Hey, you seem like a knowledgeable guy, do you know anything about PT and motu Xpress XT?

I know those XTs can be a pain in the arse :)
What’s the problem, something to do with sysex or routing?
