Title: Sequencer track erase?
Post by: tarekith on March 31, 2020, 09:58:44 AM
Can someone explain how the new Erase Track function works?  I hold track select, then press soft button 3 Erase Track.  While still holding track select, I press a track button 1-16 or a sequence button A-D, and nothing happens.  The display just says pending but the data isn't getting erased.

I tried holding down those buttons in case it was a real time erase, as well as holding the erase track button at the same time as selecting a track, still no luck.

What am I missing?

It's working for me. Hmm.. Did you reset globals after performing the update?

Yep, definitely.

Edit:  I see what is happening now.  It deletes the sequencer data but does not turn off any of the steps that were previously recorded in.  IE all steps revert to C0 after the Erase operation, but they still continue to sound.  Not a huge deal to turn off the steps manually, seems like a strange ommision though.

Surely erase should clear the entire sequence?

Noting that erase only appeared in the latest firmware - can we expect it to change in a future revision?

This command is like a doing a vulcan mind probe  :o

Why not: Track Select  >  Erase > Track | Sequence | All Sequences | Cancel on the soft buttons?
