Hey all...


I finally got around to finishing up the Moog One Samples and Presets I’ve been working on.
Full disclosure: this is a commercial release.

Nearly all of the sampled instruments we created with the Moog One for the Prophet X are stereo instruments — slightly different versions of the same synth sound hard panned left and right. This gives the samples a unique stereo flavor that is perfect for the Prophet X's stereo filters.


Some details...

The stereo nature of these samples set this apart from the Replicants sample pack — who was also comprised of stereo samples, but in the case of Replicants, the stereo aspect was the result of a mono source going through an analog stereo effects box.

With the Moog One, the samples are truly stereo without using effects. Left and right sides will have slightly varied filter / filter envelopes, LFO rates and modulation amounts, tuning, pulse width / osc shape, etc.  I think this creates a great source for the Prophet X’s stereo filters.

Yeah,  I just need to find the time to record some more and add them.  It’s on my list for sure.

Hi Shaw! I'm interested in this sample pack, but like many others, I'm running out of SSD space. I have two questions. How can I check if this sample pack would (just) fit or not? And: is it possible to somehow have a reduced subset installed without messing up the carefully arranged presets?

The size inside your PX would be 20,377 MB (see attached image)


I'm working on a list of which presets address which samples so it would be easier to load samples in a staggered fashioned for thise who want to do that.

For the Moog One Sample Pack, I've created a List of Presets (which also indicates which sample instruments are being used by each preset).  This is useful for those who may want to install a subset of samples onto their Prophet Xs.

Shaw - another satisfied customer! I purchased and downloaded your Moog One package of samples and programs today, and it's already loaded in, up and running. Great sounds. Smooth, evolving, rich. And considering what a Moog One goes for, these samples and programs in a freaking Prophet has got to be the best synth deal on the planet. Thank you so much.

I’m not sure what you mean.


There is no duplicate samples or presets between the Moog One pack set and the Replicants pack... they have completely different content (samples and presets).




**** edit:  sorry, I think I finally understand your question.  I think you want to delete the samples that are not used by presets.  If that is correct, the answer is that every one of the samples is used in at least one preset.  That is true for both the Moog and Replicants Sample Packs.

I'm really enjoying this expansion and the sound design is incredible.  However, I seem to be having an issue where (roughly) every other preset isn't producing any sound when I play the keys.  Just wondering if you have heard of an issue like this or perhaps it might be some kind of technical issue with my PX?!

I have not come across that issue... so a couple of trouble shooting ideas


One, make sure all of the samples are loaded... particularly on the presets that are making no sound.
Second, try reloading the presets.  I (and others) have noticed an issue where sometimes when you try transmitting presets over USB, not all presets get transferred.  The work around for this has been transferring presets by MIDI DIN rather than USB.


Let me know if one of these helps.

These are some big files so the process takes a while. I only have a 16 gig flash drive handy so I'm breaking this up into two sets of sample uploads. I believe I may have had to do this with the Replicants pack as well. So far so good...

Breaking it up shouldn’t be an issue at all.  I did it that way when developing the set.

I didn't see the email at the bottom of the modulatable.com site, but also figured this info can help others in loading these.

One more questions, the presets are taking a very long time (2 hours so far) to load using the SysEx utility you recommended. It's slowling working through and is at 4299 of 16384, does that seem about right?

You only load 1 of the preset bank files.  Each preset file is an entire bank of presets.  There are 128 files to cover every possible iteration of preset banks (4 possibilities) and Sample Banks (32 possibilities).   When you try to send all 128 files, you are essentially sending 128 presets 128 times (hence 16384 presets being loaded).

I recently bought a used PX, and I found various add-on packs and M1 sample and preset alredy installed!!
I would like to thank you for the inspiring M1 preset, the are way better than add-on preset!

The Moog One Samples package is a really superb set of sounds and presets however, Shaw is no longer selling his sound packs. He has been known to give them freely to those who ask politely, though. Not sure if he still reads this forum as I haven’t seen any posts from him in a long while however, you might try modulatable.synthesis@gmail.com and see if he responds.

Shaw did some great work, and I'm enjoying going through these patches immensely. One thing I needed, though, that I didn't see here was a list of the presets to find them quicker and make notes. So here's the preset list for Shaw's Replicant  bank.
