Title: Prophet X music
Post by: LoboLives on November 21, 2018, 03:05:25 PM
Seems to be a thread for every other Sequential synth regarding music demos except for the PX. Let’s hear some!

I’ll start. This one is done entirely on the PX, including the drums. I used a few presets (Vapor Waves and Haunted Temple in the beginning) but mostly it is based around blending ethnic instruments with Prophet VS wavetables. I also did a chamber string sample blended with some VS Wavetable strings as well.

Here’s a clip I did earlier today:

https://soundcloud.com/bran13/px-vox-zone-test

For me it’s an example of the 8DIO samples taking me somewhere I don’t usually go, or wouldn’t be able to get to without a lot of prep work.

Logic for drums. It’s simple, but I like the idea.

I was just playing with the vocal chops instrument and it really blew me away with the quality of the sampling. Great job.

Great stuff!

I really love how good the PX sounds and where that inspiration can lead.

It's that edit of F4 P37 (12 Stringed Synth) that I lost and then recreated. No layering though. One pass, with a few snips and a punch in. Put it though the AC-30 plug-in in Digital Performer and squashed a bit of midrange on the Master fader.

Here's the Program dump, but you'll need Lady Gaia's VCO pack specifically Neutron VCO Dual PWM, in Instrument 1.

Used the PX for this jazz track. Trumpet, piano and drums are all from the PX. Lots of subtle synthesis happening too (FM on the trumpet, fine tune on the piano etc)

A short track but one of my faves.

There's no sequencing or arpeggiating whatsoever here. The acoustic guitar and reversed piano strikes are simply looped and playing back at different speeds. No overdubs at all. Everything is played in real time in a split patch on the Sequential Prophet X. On the upper half the melody is played by a Prophet VS wave layered with a choir. The choir is having it's sample size stretched and shrunk by an LFO creating a "glitch" type effect.

A fresh new track

Just did a little quick recording tonight. No overdubs at all, everything is done in a single take on a patch I made on the Prophet X.
An ethnic percussion kit is looped on one half of the split (along with some "wind" sounds via an LFO opening the filter cutoff). On the upper half is a 12 string guitar layered with a choir that has a lot of glide applied to it.

The title comes from the Jess Franco film of the same name.
