Title: Local Off
Post by: binaural on September 21, 2018, 01:29:15 AM
I'm the proud new owner of a Pro2. What a fantastic beast this is. I haven't even touched the surface, ofcourse, but soundwise this is one of the best synths I ever had. Great fun!

I had a P08 and now a REV2 as well. Local off is already not very attractive on these synths (switching patches and the sound control panel are disabled), but the Pro2 is even worse. Why is even the transpose function disabled when Local off?

While the REV2 is not perfect as a master keyboard for my MIDI rig due to the far too drastic local off function, the Pro2 is hardly usable. I don't see myself switching back and forth all the time for something simple as transposing (which is more used anyway, because of the smaller (abeit great!) keyboard.

So, I would LOVE a beter Local off function (REV2 as well, if possible  ::)).

Why not create a few more options?:
1) LOCAL ON
2) KEYBOARD OFF (Keys, bend and mod switched off, the rest switched on)
3) CONTROLS OFF (everything, apart from patch change and transpose OFF)
4) LOCAL OFF

It would make my life (and I'm 100% sure I'm not the only one) so much easier! It's a completely avoidable nuisance in the daily use of the superb DSI synths and their keyboards.

Thanks for listening!
Jasper

hi forum! just got an ob-6 and have the same wish as jasper. 'keyboard, bend, mod & pedals OFF' would be fantastic!

having the panel only & always control the synth engine would be very usefull.

as the ob-6 is really better than expected, i'm now also considering a pro-2, so this message is not totally OT! :)

cheers,
bernd

This feature would be amazing for me as well.. currently I run into doubling notes causing paraphony to cut early while using it with my digitakt which is quite annoying. Have yet to find a decent solution with out the option for just keyboard local off.

Add me to the list that would love this. The Prophet X has the option, I don’t see why the Pro 2 doesn’t.

I didn't know that the Prophet X had added the Key/Wheels Off option alongside Local On or Off.  I've been hoping for exactly that for years on my other DSI/Sequential synths.  The Pro 2 would benefit from that hugely.

If I only had one last wish for an update, this would be it.
Seeing the Pro3 has this as well makes me miss it even more!
I love the Synth, but I also love combining it with other gear, drive it by external Sequencers (as of late the Polyend Medusa!), use the internal one for eurorack and a Key/Wheels off option would make that so much more conveniant!

Yes that is also my final wish for an update. I don't like to use the Pro 2 inside my DAW setup.
