Title: Bugs - Sample Section
Post by: Exempted on September 05, 2018, 07:50:16 AM
I have some issues with the Prophet X that I just bought.   List of issues/questions I have and pictures showing.  I sent to support but no answers yet so thought I would ask forum.

All questions/issues relate to the samples that are loaded into internal memory.  Synth/Effects sections seem to be working normal.

-There appears to be banks of instruments to select and then instruments under each bank type.  Only instruments in banks 1-7 load.  The other categories after 7 only display "error" on every instrument.
-The numbers next to instrument seem to skip.  For example category 1 could go straight to instrument number 18,19 and then skip to 27.  I thought for a second that maybe these numbers don't overlap and just needed to be in a different instrument set to see the other numbers but it appears they do overlap.
-Instrument number 1 on every bank just has "----".  This seems odd to me and trying to figure out if normal operation.

Even when samples say error I think they are loading.  At least some are loading and obvious.  I can't be sure on all of them.

Posted on another forum:

"You can access the debug menu by holding TRANSPOSE UP and DOWN buttons and pressing the GLOBAL button. Navigate to the RELOAD SAMPLE NAMES menu item and select it. The screen will update to show that the sample names are being loaded from the SSD."

Thanks that fixed the issue.  Seems weird that I think some of the names changed versus what they were before but no way to go back and prove it.  I take it the 1. instrument in each bank just turns off the sample section?

Thanks that fixed the issue.

Glad to hear it!

I believe so, at least for the relevant instrument.  It is, of course, possible to select a sampled instrument in one of the two instrument slots and leave the other one unassigned.
