Title: Question about layers
Post by: starkaudio on May 14, 2018, 07:03:44 PM
Reading the Prophet 12 operations manual...

Quote
"When a program is recalled from memory and neither Split A | B nor
Stack A + B are on, the sound that is loaded is the sound in layer A. To
play and edit layer B, turn on Edit Layer B."

and also

Quote
"When Stack A + B is on, both layers play for the full range of the
keyboard, with six voices allocated to each layer"

Does that mean that Layer B is not active (Edit Layer B is OFF,) Layer A has access to all 12 notes of polyphony?

Just to confirm - With Stack A+B on; 6 notes are available which sound both parts. With Split; 6 notes of A plus 6 note of B (each side of the split point) are available. With Split and Stack off the Edit button toggles between part A (unlit) and part B (lit) and 12 notes are available for either part.

Thank you for clarifying!
You can also turn on multi mode, if you plan to trigger it via MIDI.
In this mode Layer A will act like a 6 voice synth on MIDI channel "n" and Layer B will be on "n+1".
Resulting in a 2x6voice poly synths, both on separate MIDI channels.
