Title: OS 1.2.0.2 killed my arpeggiator.
Post by: Hannibal Lektra on January 26, 2016, 04:28:20 PM
When I turn it on and play a chord, I get one note. I rolled back my OS to the previous version with the same results.

I used MIDIOX on a Windows7 machine through USB which has never given me any issues.

Help.

EDIT: I was able to get my arp back to normal in OS 1.1.9.8 once I figured out that the update made changes to my global settings.

We have removed the 1.2.0.2 update from the site.  We should have a fixed version up shortly.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

In the meantime, please downgrade to the 1.1.9.8 OS.

I too upgraded, but I do not think it was successful as Prophet 6 did no re boot after it reached number 1 on second phase. I had to manually re boot.

Presumably if the update was successful the start up display would say 1.2.0.2? (can you please confirm this cbmd?)

Mine still says 1.2.0 as was installed when I took delivery. The arp' still works as it should, unlike Hannibal Lektra's successful update.

looks like 1.2.0.2 attempt did screw something up after all, if I press the FX on/off button the active program will switch to the first program in the Bank e,g if I am on 86 it will switch directly to 80! happens every time.

Also, because I had 1.2.0 pre-installed where do I get this firmware again? It is not available as a download.

probably best to put the 1.1 firmware on from here: http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/updating-the-prophet-6-os/

Yes, I had that too. Another issue for me was that the auto-tune routine didn't finish but got stuck displaying "H1"
I have now gone back to version 1.1 and things seem to be back to normal.

Back on track again. 1.1.9.8 installed. I take a guess that 1.1.9.8 might be exactly the same as 1.2 anyway. (1.2 being the version number displayed when I received the prophet)

ive moved back to 1.1 as suggested and the frequency knobs are not displaying the note tune - it sort of flickers (either in preset or live mode). makes it almost impossible to see what you are turning to. Was this a known bug?

Edit: looks like theres more odd things happening, the mix amount doesnt display on either effect (just flickers). Slightly worried the os 1.2 update has harmed my p6  :-[ .

Really sure hope not and I sincerely hope that the satement "it should not damage your synth" holds true

Hope the fixed firmware can be provided really soon.

For those who downloaded the 1.2.0.2 OS, DO NOT UPDATE TO IT!  While it should not damage your synth, there are some bugs which need to be ironed out prior to it being released.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone.  We will have a new update OS posted shortly.
