Title: how to start a sound from scratch?
Post by: varun213 on January 24, 2016, 04:35:11 PM
Hi guys,

I got the p8 synth a month as my first ever hardware synth and I'm kinda stuck on how to start creating a sound from a raw oscillator? I have only been using the preset sounds that are in the p8 but id really like to start making my own now. lol

Can you achieve a pretty decent 808 kick drum/bass from the p8?

For starts, go to Program 128, Bank 1.  That's a plain sawtooth patch with no modulation.  From there you can start designing your own sounds.

You can erase every preset by pressing global and + simultaneously!

In any patch, press Program and yes + buttons..to reset to a basic saw patch. If you make something you
Like you need to save it, or it will erase as soon as you change to another patch.

[Program + Yes] Still that keeps a Slope=2 which always annoys me :) You need to manually go in and reset that as well to start from "scratch"
