Title: P08+Tetra in Polychain Mode
Post by: Quai34 on July 18, 2017, 11:25:51 PM
Hi,
I just bought a used Tetra to polychain it with my P08, but I have an issue: I put the P08 in the global menu on "Out 4" and the tetra on "In End", but when I play the P08, there is only one note out of 2 that is heard??? even less, when I trigger the note, even the "red voice leds" don't blink on the P08? When I remove the Midi cable out of the P08, the P08 restarts working well, all notes played are heard...Any Idea? Should I put the Tetra on the same Midi channel than the P08? Is there any other changes I would need to do in the global menu of both? I checked both Manual but cannot see something that will help...
Sincerely

Hello,

when voices on the prophet are not triggered, do you see if the voices on the tetra are triggered? The settings you mention are correct, so check if the rest is well connected and set up:
- midi cable from "polychain out" on the prophet to "midi in" on the tetra
- put the tetra on the same midi channel as the prophet
- connect both the audio outputs of the tetra and the prophet to your mixer

Yes, make sure you're not using the MIDI Out jack on the Prophet '08, but Polychain Out.

In order to see what was going on, I put back the Tetra on " off" for poly chain and tried to control it just with the prophet 08 via midi, same channel, P08 midi out to Tetra Midi In.... Nothing is going out from the Tetra, no sound.... But when I press the " button " on the Tetra it works, it gives me the sound that is displayed? So, I'm lost?.?
Also, there is some factory presets that are not the same, so, I need to do a factory program dump from the P08 right? I did it, I saw the program dump iterating but nothing happened to the Tetra? I was expecting the dump to go directly from the P08 to the Tetra but I need to use my computer in between? Or download the editor from soundtower and reload the factory presets?

It's been a long time since I had a Tetra, but regarding dumping programs in general, it's a simple matter of MIDI out from the master to MIDI In to the slave.  Possibly your MIDI cable is faulty.  Try another one.
