Hi,
I would like to try the Breath Controller features of both my P08 and P12 but I don,t know what to buy. Anyone who has already used this feature could help?
Thanks in advance
Sincerely

I have no idea myself and I've often wondered about the feature, too. I would say ask DSI directly, or contact Marc Melia, who has used the feature with a microphone to some effect.

Ok, I will, Thanks.

Has anybody else here used the breath control feature?
-
Not on the DSI instruments. The DX-7 has a breath control feature. I used it back in the day. I never felt comfortable with it. It's not much different than an expression pedal except that the rheostat is adjusted through air pressure in the mouthpiece.

Marc Melia is not using a breath controller in that recording. He is using a vocorder. Not sure what one he is using, but here's one from GC - http://www.guitarcenter.com/Electro-Harmonix/Voice-Box-Harmony-Machine-Vocoder-1274034486387.gc?cntry=us&source=4WWRWXGP&gclid=CL-D2djQ_tMCFYmIaQodxOIM7A&kwid=productads-adid^78244844802-device^c-plaid^143950568922-sku^1274034486387@ADL4GC-adType^PLA
Marc said in the comments section that he connected the vocorder to the P-08 via midi.

Ah, that's interesting. Thanks for the information. I didn't see a device and the voice was clearly controlled by the modulation wheels, so I assumed it was from the Prophet '08.

@jdt9517
So, did you try it with Brass samples? I understood it could bring them way more life?
-
Unfortunately, it was way more years ago than I want to admit. :-X I just vaguely remember not being able use the controller well, and being more capable of using foot pedals for expression. I'm sure I used it on a brass instrument patch, but can't specifically remember.
