Title: Mod wheel causing global tuning issue
Post by: AlbertMartinez on April 19, 2017, 07:06:35 AM
Hi
Just hoping someone has resolved this issue already and can assist. I have noticed that my X4 persistently stays slightly out of tune whenever I start using the mod wheel despite updating to the latest operating system OS and voice OS and also going through the global calibration in the global menu. Any similar problem like this or same issue someone has fixed?
Many thanks in advance

Al

What's your mod wheel assigned to in this case?

And would you be able to monitor MIDI data to see what the mod wheel is sending at any given time?

In addition to Chysn's suggestion, you might also want to calibrate your pitch/mod wheels. Here's the procedure:

Wheel Calibration Routine:

1. Turn the mod wheel all the way off (down) and also hold the pitch wheel in the down/off position. While holding the wheels, press and hold the Compare switch and press the Arpeggiator switch while holding.

2. Return the pitch wheel to center, press and hold the Compare switch and press Osc switch while holding.

3. Move the Mod wheel all the way on (up) and while also holding the pitch wheel all the way up/on position, hold the Compare switch and press the Sequencer switch while holding.

Hi,
I have the same trouble with the pitch wheel.
After calibration, there is no problem but the problem of pitch come back frequently and I have to calibrate the pitch wheel again...
Have you got an advice? I need my mopho X4 for lives...
Thank you!
Willy

It sounds like maybe the spring is going bad, or something is physically keeping the wheel from being re-centered by the spring. It's probably a trip back to San Francisco for that one, unless DSI is willing to send you a new spring. It's easy enough to get out and replace, if you're comfortable taking things apart.

The best bet here is probably to contact DSI support.
