Title: Screen saver not working
Post by: Mr. Rock on February 12, 2017, 08:13:54 AM
Hi all,

I am running OS 1.2.0.2 and have Screen Saver set On in the global settings.  Instead of the screen saved kicking in, the display returns to the attached screen.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Just asking before I try reloading the OS.

Thanks.

Just a guess, but perhaps one of the pots in your Filter 2 section is a little glitchy and sending data even when not being turned. That would cause that filter screen to appear instead of the screen saver. Try turning all the knobs in the filter 2 section back and forth through their complete range a few times and see if that reduces the problem.

Solid advice, the best place to start. Also turn any knobs on that screen full stop to one side or the other and leave them. If the screen saver activates, move one of the knobs somewhere in the middle of its range and try again. If the screen saver doesn't activate or you see a value jumping, the pot may be fixed by simply turning it back and for from stop to stop around 10 times. If that doesn't fix it, contact support  and we'll get it sorted out for you.

Are you sending MIDI clock to it? I have the same issue as soon as I send MIDI clock to it. As soon as I start the clock it lights up and stays that way. According to support this is expected since it should be woken up by incoming MIDI events but the more who complain about it the more it may convince them that simple clock should not interfere with a screensaver. It worked on older versions of the firmware, though.

Receiving and slaving to MIDI clock kept my screen on too. Seemed a bit of a worry seeing that the screen saver was there for a reason. During rehearsal or whatever the screen would be on for nearly 3hrs.
