Title: play a sound mono with a keybord ?
Post by: Sensei Syd on February 27, 2017, 12:34:45 PM
Hello,
i would like to play the Tempest as a monophonic synth with an external keybord but dunno how to do.
Is there a way to turn the polyphonic synth into a monophonic one in order to be able to play legato as a monophonic synth?

Assign the pad to a single voice via shift+mod paths :)

thank you. Is it the only way to do that cause it's not so fun to plug and unplug all the time.....

You don't have to unplug anything. Locking the sound to a voice just forces it to use a specific voice, you don't need to use the individual outputs for this to work, it will still come out the main outputs.

And there's no legato FYI. (it's a drum machine ;)) Still sounds great though.

You can also set a sound/pad to choke itself which is another way to mono. Doing it that way might be better than assigning to a voice if you don't need to use voice outs, since it helps with the voice allocation pops.
