Title: OS v1.0.0.3?
Post by: wohali on September 26, 2022, 04:51:27 PM
Hey there - thrilled with my new OBX8, really happy to have it in the studio.

I notice my unit tells me it has v1.0.0.3 on it, but the latest for download from the website is v1.0.0.2.

What are the patch notes for 1.0.0.3? Is it available for download anywhere (for safe keeping)?

Thanks!

They are actually up to 1.0.0.4 now. I guess given the small increments these are just very small bug fixes at this point but yes, it would still be great to know what they are.

How do I get it?

there aren't any :/ You can contact Oberheim/Focusrite support and they'll give you the new version.

Maybe they fixed the USB midi problems with the 1.004 beta?

I think the incremental fixes are for Really Bad Bugs (RBB).  A RBB is such that a customer can no longer use his machine so they have to be addressed ASAP.

I found a RBB that locked up my machine.  I was able to narrow it down for the software team (patch name), they killed that RBB and delivered the fix in v1.0.0.4

Same here mine arrived yesterday and love it so far. How do you check the firmware version on the OB X8?
Right now I am trying to figure out how to sequence two parts/patches via MIDI from the Squarp Hapax to the OB X8 since it is bi-timbral and should let me do this in split mode.

Hello there,
18th of January I received my OB X8. It is super fat sounding.
Anyway I saw that my OS is 1.0.0.3 and on the official site is 1.0.0.2
Moreover, here in the forum there is the 1.0.0.7  ::)
It is a beta version? Did anyone already installed it?
Thank you

1.0.0.7 is the latest beta OS - the file for this OS are pinned at the top of this sub forum. After updating, be sure to power cycle the synth, then clear & run full calibration. Instructions for this are included in the OS download.

I've installed o2 v.1.2 and v1.7 and neither work properly - OS1.7 completely crashes the synth - anyone else had this issue?

Installed 1.0.0.7 with no problems.  It is important that you follow the installation steps.
