I enjoyed reading "Power Tools for Synthesizer Programming"  by Jim T. Aikin a lot (https://www.amazon.com/Power-Tools-Synthesizer-Programming-Reference/dp/0879307730 (https://www.amazon.com/Power-Tools-Synthesizer-Programming-Reference/dp/0879307730)). I occasionally still browse through it as it has lots of nice modulation and patching suggestions.

There is of course also the amazing Sound on Sound archive at https://web.archive.org/web/20160403115835/http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/allsynthsecrets.htm (https://web.archive.org/web/20160403115835/http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/allsynthsecrets.htm) (scroll all the way down to find the start of the series).

Another excellent book is "Analog Synthesizers," by Mark Jenkins.

https://www.amazon.com/Analog-Synthesizers-Understanding-Performing-synthesis/dp/0240520726/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1507491525&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=Ananlog+Synthesizers

And if you want to be an informed DSI guy, you can't omit this one:

Have a look here: https://rhordijk.home.xs4all.nl/G2Pages/

Loads of info from a guy I know Rob who is a master. It uses the Nord G2 and you can download a G2 emulator/demo to work through it all here: http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/legacy/nord-modular-g2
