P6 controlling REV2 desktop

I have a Prophet 6 and a rev 2 desktop. I would like to use the P6 to control the Rev2. Is there some sort of midi footpedal I could use to switch between the 2 synths while using the master P6 for both. I know how this is done in ableton, but wondering if anyone has come up with a solution for this type of application. I know I can go into the globals and turn local on and off, but would like to make it a little more immediate.

Consider solving this in the audio domain. An ABY switch could allow you to select which synth you want to go to an amp/mixer/input:

Or a cheap mixer. Using the Alt bus (like a Mute) of an inexpensive Mackie mixer could give you an easy toggle between two synths for example.

You could also configure the Rev2 to receive program changes from the P6. Then from the front panel of the P6 you can switch patches with the patch buttons quickly. This requires coordinated patches between Rev 2 and P6 - just have each patch choose what relative volume you want from each synth.
