Yeah, that article outlines how to do it with MIDI-OX. MIDI-OX is one of the most popular and widely used sysex programs, and can both send .syx files to instruments and receive midi sysex dumps (patches, firmware updates, etc). (Sysex Librarian is similar for Mac)
From the Rev2, you can go into the Globals Menu and dump a single patch or an entire bank of patches through MIDI sysex protocol.
There are other librarian/editor programs as well, such as the ones from SoundTower and CodeKnobs, which both work well for patch librarian duties. Also, there was another one call KnobKraft that was recently mentioned... that might work for you.
The MIDI-OX route is the most universal, as it can work with any MIDI instrument that sends and receives MIDI sysex messages.
