Um, huh? If you are doing techno or most any nightclub/warehouse party music, you should stick to mono or you will find that the peeps on the left hand side of the dance floor hear something very different to the peeps on the right hand side.
But, if you are wanting to do some sort of panning in your mix down, but are bouncing tracks in mono (to save space or time or whatever reason) you can't expect the stereo positioning of the tracks to be preserved. Bounce tracks that were recorded in stereo into a stereo track. Stuff that are mono to start with and are a simple mix down with nothing more than riding levels, do them first then do your stereo mixdowns where you might need four hands (and practice the mix first!).
