It's pretty straight forward and I can get pretty close with my P-08. So, I assume the Rev. 2 can do it too. Basics of the patch: Osc 1 Sawtooth Wave. Osc 2 Square wave one octave higher than the saw. I add a little pulse width modulation with LFO#2, triangle wave, destination PW Osc 2, speed about 89 on the P-08. Increase amount to taste.
Detune the oscs so that there is a little chorusing taking place. Does not require a lot.
Set the Envelope on the VCA so there is a medium fast attack, full sustain and no release. The VCA is not an important part of this patch, so the envelope is set to get the VCA out of the way.
LP filter set to 4 pole.
The filter envelope is set with a medium fast attack (about 1/8 second), medium delay, no sustain and no release.
Set the LP Filter so that without the envelope, there will be just a rumbling of the undertones when a key is played.
Increase the envelope amount until the filter opens up a pleasing amount of harmonics when depressing the keys.
Adjust the Resonance until it gives off a wah-wah sound when the key is depressed. There will be some fine tuning of the LP Filter, Resonance, and amount of envelope to get a stab that's pleasing to you.
The warbling sound is LFO in a triangle, set to a speed of about 70 modifying the pitch of oscs 1 and 2. The mod wheel adjusts the intensity.
On the solo bits, add some sustain to the VCF envelope. That way the note will extend out while you are playing the longer notes.
Hope this helps!
