No countdown when running OS update

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this board, just a couple of weeks old on my new (secondhand) P6, and I love the synth!

Starting of my presence here with a question: I'm having no success in updating the OS from 1.1.0 to 1.3.1 (using MacBook running OS 10.8.5 and SysExLibrarian). When I play the SysEx file, there is no countdown (as it is explained in the instruction). The P6 stays as it is, still produces sound. The info seems not to get to the machine.

- I have 'prepared' the P6 as written in the instructions: SysEx is on USB. (MIDI channel is set to 'all', by the way..)
- The SysExLibrarian recognizes the P6, I selected it, of course.
- I run ('play') the file
- No reaction or effect on the P6

- tried it several times
- swapped USB cables
- lowered the 'transmit speed' and 'pauses between played messages'
- read the instructions several times since I expect the problem to be me, and not my Mac or the P6...

Nevertheless no success.

Who can tell me where I make my (probably very simple and dumb) mistake?

Who would have thought that the good old 5-pin MIDI connection still rules over USB sometimes...
